The logo

The logo comprises of a ribbon structure that spells out AA. The colours are chosen to represent the country of Wales. The lighter green line represents the borders area, an area known for it's rolling green hills and natural beauty.

The circle and triangle will feature on this website, but adaptations of this have been used for decades and a fresh, newer approach to the logotype is suggested.


If viewed upside-down the AA appears as a W for the W in Wales. This orientation has not been chosen as the main logo since inverted As might appear as subversive.


If viewed after a 90º rotation, a B appears for the B in Borders. Again, this orientation has not been chosen as it may be read as subversive.

The simplicity of the logo means that it can be easily replicated, animated and deconstructed as needed.

Colour Guide

The two colours here, along with white reflect the country of Wales. They anchor the Region to the location it represents.

The primary red colour is bold and so ought to not be overused. The light green colour provides a softer feel to balance the bold red colour.

Logo

The logo must be displayed only as shown.

The logo may never be distorted. It must keep the correct aspect ratio.

The logo should never be rotated.

The logo must not be recoloured.

When using the logo on darker backgrounds, it is suggested that a light grey background is added in order to keep the logo clearly visible.

Below is the logo as it should be used in most circumstances. 

The circle and triangle logo below is used as a secondary logo to connect our brand with AA as a whole.

These three words usually appear with the circle and triangle logo of GSO and the WSO. They cannot be displayed with the circle and triangle logo for copyright reasons. They can be used regularly throughout our branding, however, as an alternative.
