This page contains brand guidance and assets designed to ensure consistent and effective communication from the Wales & Borders Region pf Alcoholics Anonymous. These resources are specifically for the use of our elected and appointed officers in their official roles.
To maintain the integrity of our regional branding, we ask that these guidelines and materials are not used for purposes outside of official Region business. Thank you for adhering to these guidelines.
While our website will continue to feature the familiar circle and triangle, which have represented AA for decades, we are excited to introduce a fresh, modern logotype.
This new design utilises an elegant ribbon structure to form the letters "AA." The colours within this ribbon are intentionally chosen to evoke the spirit of Wales, with the lighter green line representing the lush green landscapes of the Welsh border regions.
This contemporary logo's simplicity lends itself well to replication, animation, and deconstruction as needed, and it can be used effectively with or without the accompanying text.
Various file types of the logo are available to Region officers upon request from the RECLO.
To ensure the consistent and professional representation of the Wales & Borders Region, please adhere to the following guidelines when using our official logo:
Maintain original colours: The logo's official colour palette should be strictly adhered to. The colours should not be altered in any way, including:
Changing the specific colour values (e.g., RGB, CMYK, Pantone).
Applying gradients or colour overlays.
Converting to grayscale or other colour modes unless specifically provided for limited use cases (e.g., very small print where colour reproduction is poor).
Preserve original orientation: The logo should always be displayed in its original orientation (e.g., horizontal or vertical arrangement of elements). Please do not rotate, flip, or otherwise alter the logo's intended positioning.
Respect proportions and ratio: The logo's width-to-height ratio should be maintained at all times. Please do not stretch, skew, compress, or distort the logo in any way. Ensure that when resizing, you scale both the width and height proportionally to avoid any visual distortion.
Maintain clear space: There should be adequate clear space surrounding the logo, free from any other graphic elements, text, or borders. This isolation helps the logo stand out and maintain its visual impact. The recommended clear space is typically the height (or width, whichever is greater) of one of the logo's key elements (e.g., the "AA" letters or the triangle).
Use approved logo files: Please only use the official logo files provided by the Region. Do not attempt to recreate or redraw the logo, as this can lead to inconsistencies. Various versions of the logo are available upon request from the RECLO.
Avoid adding elements: Please do not add any additional text, graphics, effects (such as drop shadows or bevels), or alter the logo in any other way. The logo should always appear as a complete and unaltered unit.
Consider background contrast: Ensure that the logo has sufficient contrast with the background colour to remain clearly visible. If the standard logo doesn't provide enough contrast, please use an approved alternative version.
Text should be presented in black, white or any of the three colours in this guide.

Aa Footer/Caption TextThe two colours here, along with white reflect the country of Wales. They anchor the Region to the location it represents.
The primary red colour is bold and so ought to not be overused. The light green colour provides a softer feel to balance the bold red colour.
